What to include

Tell us your Windows version, History version, the step that failed, and the error text. A screenshot can help. Please do not send passwords, access tokens, complete rollout files, or private conversation passages unless you deliberately choose to share them.

First checks

• Confirm you extracted the full download and kept the history-marketplace folder in place.
• Run codex plugin marketplace add "C:\path\to\history-marketplace", then codex plugin add history@history-local.
• Start a new local Codex conversation after installation. History reads files under CODEX_HOME, or your default .codex directory.
• The first search may take longer while History builds its local index. It needs free disk space proportional to the text in your sessions.

Remove local History data

Uninstalling the plugin does not delete the derived index or pins. To remove those History-created files on Windows, close the plugin and delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\CodexHistory. This does not remove your Codex rollouts. If you set HISTORY_DATA_HOME, delete that chosen directory instead.
